Policies & Fees
All payments must be made online through HomeAway.com with a major credit or debit card unless other arrangements are made.
The security deposit is returned in full within a week unless you stream a lot of videos over the WiFi, or cause us to incur additional expenses over and above normal wear and tear, usage, and cleaning costs.
The cabin is cleaned before your arrival, and linens and supplies are provided for the number of guests stated. A non-refundable cleaning fee of $50 is required for all stays for general cleaning and sanitizing, hot tub and cabin maintenance, linen replacement, towels, and guest supplies. In addition, all guests are required to leave the cabin in good condition and perform a few minor cleanup tasks such as dish-washing, bagging all garbage, and returning items to their original locations and conditions.
Kids are welcome at the cabin, but you need to bring diapers linens, towels, high chairs, toys, or other special items for little ones since these are not provided. And also watch them closely: you are responsible for any damage they may inflict on our cabin or furnishings.
Pets cannot weigh more than 35 lbs each, and up to 2 are allowed with payment of a one-time Pet Fee of $75 + tax. This fee is used to pay for deep cleaning to remove any residual dander and fur from the floors and furniture. This fee does NOT include cleaning out the hot tub or cleaning off pet hair from the bedding comforters since we incur extra costs for cleaning these. An additional fee of $75 will therefore be assessed if we have to clear pet hair from the hot tub or dry clean the comforter.
Owners are also responsible for any other damage by their pets. Further, if you tell us that pets are coming and you don’t bring them for whatever reason, you are still liable for the pet fee unless you notify us at least 24 hours in advance of your arrival.
The 14.44% surcharge includes a state & local sales tax of 9.44% and the Monroe County Lodging tax of 5%.
Cupid’s Cove now features Hi-speed WiFi Internet. For many years, we only had dial-up. Then in 2014 we added satellite Internet from Exede, and provided free access to our guests. In the early summer of 2015, however, we started noticing that our Exede bill started going through the roof! We found out the extra cost was because a few guests were constantly streaming movies and games through Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Facetime, Snapchat and similar apps!
Here’s the bottom line: We don’t mind providing basic Internet to all guests at no charge, but once you go OVER 0.8 GIGS of bandwidth per day, we will have to charge you for what it costs us. Since only ONE streamed 2-hour HD move can hog up to 2 GIGS OR MORE (!) limit your usage (and turn off your cell phones when not in use!) to avoid extra charges.
FREE USAGE. If you want free, Hi-Speed WiFi is normally provided, but not guaranteed. Since normal website and email surfing is often less than 0.7 Gigs per day, it is unlikely you will lose your Hi-Speed unless other guests pay for and/or use a lot of bandwidth prior to your arrival. If this happens, you will still have access to the Internet, but at dial-up speeds.
Overall, you should have plenty of data and service if you stick to normal surfing, checking email, and turning off your cell phone when not in use.
Cancellations notices received 30 days or more prior to the date of arrival will result in a full refund. If you cancel before 14 days, you will get a 50% refund. Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable.
Any refunds will be made within 14 days of the cancellation request. Travel Insurance is highly recommended if you suspect you might have to cancel during the no-refund period.
Did you know your trip can be insured for only about 5-8% of the total cost if you have to cancel for any reason?? Save your vacation; check out www.TripInsuranceStore.com for a price comparison and rate chart, or call 1-888-407-3854 for a free quote.
